Don’t compare doorhandles

It’s easy to become consumed by the details of a person or product, especially when you’re comparing potential partners or an expensive purchase.

We go over personality traits like a spec sheet and spec sheets like they’re scripture. Comparing arbitrary details as though they will provide you the definitive answer you’re so desperately looking for.

You kneel at the alter of tangible features and attributes; your intuition atrophied like your Facebook usage.

But if you’re looking too closely at the styling of the door handle — you’ll miss that some doorhandles are attached to luxury vehicles, and some to toilet doors.

Zoom out. Get quiet and get perspective.

External perspective of the product and internal perspective for the partner.

Comparing spec sheets means you’re looking far too closely at a product, you miss the complete mission of the company, or lack thereof.

Weighing up potential partners in your life requires more intuitiveness but the same level of conscientious decision making. Chemistry and compatibility come into play, for sure, but so does your own wants and needs.

Choosing neither in both cases is also an option.

Get quiet. Then make decisions based on your values and virtues.

Don’t buy products for the numbers. We’re beyond that in 2019.

Don’t pick partners based on obligation. You owe yourself more than that.

Peace & love ✌️❤
